TRANSFERS AND EXTENSIONS
You may extend your trip before/after our itinerary. However, transfers are not included if you arrive or depart from a different airport or at a different time from when the trip begins and ends. Transfers are only included from the specified arrival/departure airports and hotels.

FOOD
You will have a variety of food choices. While typical fare is available, you will also find a number of options offered at restaurants within walking distance from the hotel.

LODGING
Hotel accommodations are three- or four-star hotels. In Peru, your riverboat consists of two 20-bunk sleeping quarters.

STAFFING
Lifetree Adventures provides experienced, U.S.- based staff on most of our trips. In addition, there will be local guides and translators when appropriate.

TIPPING POLICY
Lifetree Adventures has taken care of certain tips and gratuities for all included meals and activities, such as tips for porters, housekeepers, drivers, activity providers, local experts, and dining room staff. Tips are not included for local tour guides. Tipping is at your discretion. The basic guideline is $5-$8 daily per local tour guide (US dollars).

WHAT TO PACK
Please limit your baggage to one piece of luggage per person plus one carry-on. With frequent security changes, we recommend that you check with your air carrier as well as the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) website (www.tsa.gov) for current restrictions.

Since your adventure includes outdoor activity and physically active, service-oriented work, attire for your adventure should be casual and comfortable. However, you may wish to do business casual attire for certain dinner meals. If you need to travel with medication, make sure to carry a letter from the attending physician, describing the medical condition and prescription medications, including the generic names of the drugs. Any medications being carried overseas should be left in their original containers and be clearly labeled. Do check with the foreign embassy of the country you are visiting to make sure any required medications are not considered to be illegal narcotics.

SINGLE SUPPLEMENT FARES
This is a charge added to a per-person occupancy rate when only a single person occupies a room or bed.

REQUIRED TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION
If you are a U.S. citizen, you will need a valid passport for entry into a foreign country and upon return to the United States.

• It must be valid six months beyond your intended stay and have one to two blank pages remaining.

• Allow yourself sufficient time to have your application processed if you are applying for a new passport or renewing an expired passport. Visit www.travel.state.gov for more details.

Visas are currently required for Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Egypt.

In addition, participants 17 years old or younger, when traveling with a sole parent, should carry a notarized letter of permission to leave the country signed by the absent parent.

If you are not a U.S. citizen, please check with the embassy of the country you are visiting for information on documentation requirements.

VACCINATIONS/HEALTH
There are no required vaccinations for our trips. However, talk to your health-care provider regarding any recommended vaccinations. You can also go to www.cdc.gov. Some of the excursions are moderately strenuous and at high altitudes. Please check with your health care provider if you feel this will be an issue.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
You must be in good physical and mental health. Any physical condition requiring special attention, diet, or treatment must be reported when the reservation is made.

AGE ELIGIBILITY
Most of our trips require that all travelers be 18 years old at time of departure. For our family adventures, children must be at least 7 years old.

SPECIAL-NEEDS TRAVELERS
Please note that this tour includes activities that present certain challenges to guests with special needs. It is strongly recommended that people requiring assistance be accompanied by a companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing assistance. Neither Lifetree Adventures nor its suppliers may physically lift or assist guests onto transportation vehicles. Contact your Lifetree Adventures specialist to discuss your specific needs.
