Adventures price?

North America. In country transportation is provided in the
price of the Lifetree Adventures price. In Peru our price does
include the airfare from Lima to Pucallpa.
What travel documentation do I need?
All U.S. citizens will need a valid passport to enter a foreign
country and return to the United States.
• It must be valid six months beyond your intended stay and have
1-2 blank pages remaining.
• Allow yourself sufficient time to have your application processed
if you are applying for a new passport or renewing an expired
passport. Visit www.travel.state.gov for more details.
Visas are not required for most trips. For full information please
ask your mission trip planner at time of booking.
In addition, all participants 17 years of age or younger, when
traveling with a sole parent, should carry a notarized Permission
letter to leave the country signed by the absent parent.
If you are not a U.S. citizen, please check with the country's
Embassy website for information on documentation
requirements.
Do I need vaccinations?
Vaccinations are not required for most of the countries you will
be traveling in, however, it is advised that you consult with the
Center for Disease Control at http://www.cdc.gov/
concerning your specific country. If you are not a U.S. citizen,
please check your local requirements on vaccinations for
travel.
Are transfers included if I arrive or depart from
different locations or at different times from the
itinerary?
No. Transfers are only included from the specified
arrival/departure airports and hotels. However, if you need
assistance with transfers that are not included in the price please
contact your mission trip planner for assistance.
Can I extend beyond the Lifetree Adventures
itinerary?
Yes, you may stay before or after in any of our locations
at your own expense unless choosing one of our optional add ons.
Otherwise, please schedule your flights around the planned
itinerary.
What is the climate like?
Depending upon your chosen destination the temperatures can vary
anywhere from a mild 65 degrees to high 90's with humidity.
For more detailed climate information please contact your mission
trip planner.
How strenuous are the activities?
Some adventures are more physically strenuous than others
but most Lifetree Adventures trips will include at least four
8-hour service days typically in hot and humid environments. Guests
should feel comfortable spending multiple days working outdoors and
standing most of that time. Temperatures may be hot and humid, so
wear cool clothing and a hat, and drink plenty of water. Service
projects consist primarily of construction work but some of our
trips include ways to help that aren't as physically strenuous.
You'll be given the opportunity to work at a level of physical
exertion with which you're comfortable.
What is the age eligibility?
The majority of our trips are for families with children
ages 7 and up, young people, adults and seniors.
Are the trips appropriate for travelers with special
needs?
Please note that our Lifetree Adventure trips include
activities that present certain challenges to guests with special
needs. It is strongly recommended that persons requiring assistance
be accompanied by a companion who is capable of and totally
responsible for providing assistance. Neither Lifetree Adventures
nor its suppliers may physically lift or assist guests onto
transportation vehicles. Contact your Lifetree Adventures team to
discuss your needs. The volunteer service takes place in
impoverished neighborhoods that are not easily accessible or
navigable to people who have difficulty walking or are restricted
to a wheelchair.
What types of meals are served?
Most meals will be provided by our ministry partners. They
have been carefully trained to prepare safe and nutritious meals
for our guests.
Can you accommodate special dietary needs?
Lifetree Adventures will make every reasonable effort to
accommodate some special dietary needs at no additional charge.
Unfortunately, we may not be able to accommodate all special
dietary needs requested. Please contact your mission trip planner
in advance of your departure to advise us of your needs.
What is the language and currency?
The languages will vary depending on the destination that
you choose. Please contact your mission trip planner to
find out more specifics regarding the languages
spoken. The exchange rate fluctuates so we advise that
you check the rate just before departure to determine how much cash
to carry. Credit cards are generally accepted at most stores and
ATM machines are available. You can exchange money at the airport
when you arrive.
Are tips included?
Lifetree Adventures has taken care of certain tips and
gratuities for all included meals and activities such as tips for
porters, housekeepers, drivers, activity providers, local experts,
and dining room staff for included meals.
What if Lifetree Adventures cancels the trip prior to
departure?
Lifetree Adventures reserves the right to cancel or reschedule
an adventure at any time for any reason, such as if there are too
few guests or if the quality of the trip or the safety of the
guests would, in our opinion, be compromised, such as may result
from unforeseen circumstances (acts of God) or other circumstances
beyond the control of Lifetree Adventures.
If we cancel your adventure prior to its scheduled start date,
we will attempt to re-book you on another departure of the same
adventure during the same season, subject to availability; however,
you will bear any resulting airline re-booking charges. If we are
unable to re-book you on another departure, our sole obligation to
you is to refund your payment to us for the land portion, which
refund shall constitute a full settlement. We assume no
responsibility for any losses incurred by you on account of
non-refundable air tickets or otherwise.
We strongly encourage the purchase of trip insurance that may
allow you to recoup these costs in the rare case of such an
occurrence. Carefully review any trip insurance policy so that
you're aware of any restrictions. If you have any questions please
consult your travel specialist.
What about deposits, payments, and
cancellations?
To reserve space on a trip, a non-refundable $100 deposit is due
when you register. Final payment is due no later than 60 days
before departure. If final payment has not been received 60 days
before departure (based on the postmark date), Lifetree Adventures
reserves the right to cancel the reservation. For cancellations 59
or less days before departure, 100% of the trip cost will be
forfeited. The same policy applies to any trip extensions.
