Despite the idyllic beauty here, there are numerous challenges faced by the people of Vanuatu. The islanders live in small villages, barely surviving by subsistence agriculture and spending what precious little money they have to buy rice and meat.

TRIP OVERVIEW
Your Lifetree Adventure takes place on Pentecost Island. The island is the home of the nanggol, or land diving—the original bungee jump! Through Lifetree Adventures, you can make your own leap of faith and plunge into this fascinating culture.
You will work at a Christian boarding school that overlooks the turquoise waters of the Pacific, helping to improve the facilities that serve the school’s 300 students. The school enables these young people to get ahead economically, as only half of Vanuatu kids receive a sixth grade education and a quarter of the children never make it to school at all.
Plenty of time is built into this adventure to join the students for time to talk, play and worship in the campus chapel. In your spare time, you can take a dip in the ocean, or visit the spectacular nearby waterfall and swim in the freshwater pools below it. As you behold God’s creative power and beauty here, you and the members of your group will come away changed for the better, and inspired to serve others as never before.
